DAPO ADENIYI

Dapo Adeniyi is the publisher, Position Magazine and Film Director, Back Page Productions. He began his career in radio and television when his first play was broadcast on BBC World Service in 1986. In 1994, he became a British Council Fellow in Downing College, University of Cambridge. Subsequently, Adeniyi was appointed by the Nigerian Television Authority to write the television adaptation of Wole Soyinka’s childhood memoirs, Ake, which he eventually adapted for film and directed and screened in Lagos and Cannes in 2016. Dapo Adeniyi is a prominent name in Nigerian literature and journalism and has translated indigenous literature to English, as well as served as editor for arts and culture for the Nigerian Times. He has also served as a visiting editor to The Times Literary Supplement of London.
